Band Bios

Well known among international improvisers, freaks, performers, psychedelic noise nerds,
and free thinkers, the BIG PLASTIC FINGER core are:

bk_imgBonnie Kanesax, flute, electronics

is the result of an unusually early and continuous exposure to Sun Ra, a blessing from June Tyson, and studies with Paul McCandless, Glenn Moore (Oregon), Jon Raskin (ROVA Saxophone Quartet), and Anthony Braxton.  A pioneer in the area of feedback and extended saxophone technique, she terms her work as avant core: mixing the extremes of psychedelic rock and hard core with the energies of avant garde jazz.  Not for the timid.

mark_wpMark McClemens – drums, percussion

composer, multi-instrumentalist, and jazz scholar. He got his start with the band, Slang Girl, and later formed the legendary space rock outfit, Born to Go. In addition to BIG PLASTIC FINGER, his mega beats power the bands, Goon Saloon, Starship Blues, and the infamous Brian Wilson Shock Treatment .

scott_bioScott Prato – guitar, vocals, and electronics

is a leader of space exploration in this century as a guitarist and composer. His checkered musical past includes being the bandleader of The Thundering Lizards and Friends of Mescalito, stints in the JFK JR. Royal Airforce, World of Tomorrow, Billy Syndrome, Von Lmo and Brian Wilson Shock Treatment. His fluid psychedelic guitar style is the result of years of imbibing the sounds of Hendrix, Blue Cheer, Beefheart, Quicksilver, Gong and Hawkwind.  He does his mentors proud.

Tracy Lisk – vocals, electronics, percussion

is a mulit-instrumentalist, artist, and teacher. Recent work includes vocals and guitar with improvisational outfit Wormhole Superette in the 2016 Philadelphia Fringe Festival with acclaimed Butoh dancer Ryuzo Fukuhara.  Studied Brazilian percussion in Salvador, Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Currently performs as percussionist in Philadelphia with Arrastão do Dendê.   Exhibiting visual artist, curator (Inside the Moment: Intn’l Short Film Festival in Philadelphia, Highwire Gallery).  Collaborated with Canadian videographer Dominic Gagnon, and various artists and musicians in Philadelphia.

Travis E. Woodson – bass, electronics

is a composer, arranger, improviser, and multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with various Philadelphia musicians and dancers. Has performed with Make a Rising, Sonic Liberation Front, Electric Simcha, Split Red, Adult Content, Kohoutek, and his own groups, Live Like a King, and/or Pyramid Minds. During the summer of 2012, he premiered a series of compositions and arrangements for three guitars, as a part of the Archer Spade Performance Series, and performed at the Nowhere Festival, in 2015.
